My first Oscilloscope!

I bought an oscilloscope šŸ™ŒšŸ™Œ

I’m not certain how old I was when I took my first steps. However, I know that I was today years old (actually a few days ago…) when I purchased my first oscilloscope. The latter almost definitely trumps the former.

I’m not necessarily used to writing, it feels a bit unnatural to me, however, that’s why I’m here and that is why I have created this site. To write. Also to gain a deeper, more instinctual understanding of electronics. It’s up for debate whether my lack of this ā€˜instinctual understanding’ is a result of the pressures of the tertiary education system or whether I simply didn’t give myself the opportunity to learn, instead constantly distracting myself when possible (as most uni students do). Most likely a combination of both.

I thought my first post is as good as any to talk why I really took project this upon myself. To start building a home lab. I must confess I have wanted to do this for quite some time.

I can think back to high school, I was lucky enough to attend a school that offered an Engineering ATAR course. This sparked me with passion, or at least the most I could muster up as video game addicted 17 year old. I remember telling myself that I was going to build a home lab, I had to. Not surprisingly, nothing happened.

Again, a couple of years into my degree (I cant recall if it was second or third year), I had the urge again. This time though I’m not sure the urge was one born out of desire or a symptom of my insecurity. It may seem random that insecurity would have me want to build a home lab but I wanted to get my life together, and ā€˜locking in’ on the engineering hustle seemed to be the path. I did not lock in, at least not in a heartbeat as I had hoped. Again, nothing happened.
